Carico Asian Style Rice (Not Fried)

I wouldn’t necessarily put Fried Rice in the health food category but there is no doubt that if you are like me there are definitely days that you just crave that delicious salty, slightly sweet, nutty flavor. The good news is with this Carico recipe you have control over the amount of sodium you are consuming and this recipe also cuts the cooking time by turning this beloved dish into a one-pot meal.

Additional Ingredients

By now, you can probably tell I love recipes that can be personalized, and this Asian style rice is no different. I decided to make my
rice with sautés green beans, but you can add any protein, vegetable, and for a touch of sweetness pineapple or mango!

Sesame Oil

An important note: You will notice in this recipe I use olive oil to prepare the vegetables and the sesame oil is added at the end of the
cooking as a flavoring. Many recipes instruct you to fry your ingredients in sesame oil, however, this oil is best as a last step addition because unrefined sesame oil can burn at temperatures above 350°F and actually spoil the flavor of your dish.

This recipe is extremely versatile and most importantly easy to make and of course delicious!

Here’s to healthy living!
